Being a self-taught photographer with no formal training, trying to find my artistic style--among teaching myself the technicalities of photography--has been my greatest struggle. Ordinary pleasure, so far, is the closest I've gotten to what I believe is my artistic: shadows and the ordinary.

Ordinary pleasures examine the incredibly mundane and by all means unbeautiful objects and scenes we engage with on a regular basis: a curtain, a bouquet of dying flowers, a furniture store -- and attempts to elevate their presence to a place of importance. Through the manipulation of light and shadows, I strive to infuse ordinary scenes with a sense of lovely, strange, and mystical qualities.
